Who Is Jesus?
Jesus Christ is the King who came to restore God’s Kingdom on Earth, directly confronting the spiritual battle between the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of Hell. He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, and God in human form. His life, death, and resurrection are the cornerstone of God’s plan to redeem humanity and reestablish His divine rule over the Earth.
The Kingdom of God: What Was Lost
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, establishing His Kingdom with humanity as His representatives. Adam and Eve were given dominion, tasked to steward creation and reflect God’s glory. But through disobedience, sin entered the world, and humanity forfeited its place in God’s Kingdom. Chaos, death, and separation from God became the norm.
This disruption of God’s Kingdom set the stage for the spiritual battle that continues to this day, a battle between the forces of Heaven and Hell. Yet, even in humanity’s fall, God’s plan for restoration began to unfold. He promised that one would come to crush the serpent’s head and restore what was lost (Genesis 3:15). The Prophecy of a Restorer
Throughout history, God’s prophets foretold the coming of a Savior who would redeem humanity and bring the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth.
Isaiah 9:6-7: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder… Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end.”
Micah 5:2: “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel.”
These prophecies declared hope to a world in darkness: a King would come, not only to rule but to save.
The Birth of the King
The promise was fulfilled in a manger in Bethlehem. Jesus’ miraculous birth was heralded by angels, celebrated by shepherds, and marked by a star. He was no ordinary child; He was Emmanuel, “God with us” (Matthew 1:23).
